Erbium Laser Resurfacing (Erbium Laser Skin Resurfacing)

What is erbium laser skin resurfacing?

The Erbium YAG is a 2940nm ablative laser used to resurface the outer layer of the skin. It is the treatment of choice for patients wanting to achieve dramatic improvement in the appearance of their skin with minimal downtime. It is used to treat hyperpigmentation, including melasma, fine lines deep wrinkles, acne scarring, scars, and stretch marks. Erbium has been shown to stimulate collagen and elastin production, which will continue to smooth and tighten loose skin. It is the best way to address the problematic lines that occur around the mouth and eyes.

Treatment areas include the face, hands, neck, chest, and body. 

How does it work?

The Erbium laser rapidly vaporizes water residing in the skin which delivers an almost instant skin ablation while limiting heat damage in the surrounding area. Each treatment is fully customizable with the ability to resurface the skin from 10 to 100 microns depending on what the client needs and desired downtime.

What if I don't want downtime?

Some clients want the glow without the downtime. For these patients, we offer a fractionated erbium laser. The fractionated lens breaks the laser beam into a grid of tiny beams that create microscopic injuries to the top layer of skin. Because only a “fraction” of the skin is being treated at one time, healing is more rapid and downtime is significantly less.

The micro-injuries stimulate new collagen and elastin production, ultimately smoothing and evening out skin texture and tone.

IPL Photofacial (IPL Photo Rejuvenation)

What is a photofacial?

A photofacial is an FDA-approved, non-invasive treatment that utilizes IPL or intense pulse light technology to minimize and reverse the signs of aging and treat a wide array of skin conditions such as Hyperpigmentation, including sun damage and age spots, vascular lesions, including broken capillaries and rosacea, as well as acne. The heat causes micro-trauma to the dermis layer of the skin which stimulates the production of collagen and elastin reducing fine lines and wrinkles, toning and tightening the skin for a more youthful appearance. 

IPL is unique in that it treats skin damage at the dermis layer without damaging the skin’s surface, so there is no downtime. Treatment areas include the face, neck, chest, back, legs arms, and hands. 

Most clients will see a significant improvement after 1 treatment, with optimal results showing between 4 to 6 IPL treatments.

1064 Yag vascular treatment

What is a long pulsed Yag (LPY) and how does it work? 

The Spectrum’s 1064nm Long Pulsed YAG Laser allows the practitioner to precisely treat visible vessels, broken capillaries, spider veins, and vascular lesions on the face and body by using laser energy. Once the laser light is applied to the skin, it enters the vein, where the energy from the laser is absorbed and the vein walls collapse and seal shut, eliminating the vein’s appearance on the skin. Usually, the vessels collapse during the treatment session, but there can be some post-treatment redness and swelling. Following treatment sessions with aggressive sun protection can produce longer-lasting results and prevent the formation of similar lesions. 

Carbon Facial 

A carbon laser facial is a superficial treatment that helps with acne, enlarged pores, oily skin, and uneven skin tone. They're sometimes called the Hollywood facial. Your practitioner uses a carbon solution and Q-Switched laser to blast out cellular debris and excess oil leaving skin gorgeous and glowing. 

Tattoo Removal (Laser Tattoo Removal)

We have a Q-switched Nd: YAG laser that can target most tattoo pigments, including reds and blues. 

What is tattoo and pigment removal? 

The Q-switched laser is considered the gold standard for tattoo removal. It works by using a beam of light to significantly lighten or completely remove your tattoo. When the ink particles absorb the light from the laser, they heat up and are broken up into fragments and then absorbed through your body’s immune system. The Q-switch is extremely precise, only heating the tattoo pigment, and leaving the surrounding tissue unharmed. The benefit of this is a quicker and less complicated healing time. This process generally takes a few weeks. The larger the tattoo, the more sessions it will take to break down the ink particles. 

 A Q-Switch laser may also be used to treat pigmented lesions including age spots, freckles, sunspots, and some birthmarks. It targets the melanin in the superficial layer of your skin.

What is unique about Q-switched tattoo removal? 

A Q-switched laser is the only technology that is able to penetrate down to the dermis and shatter tattoo ink (via photoacoustic waves) without causing damage to the surrounding skin tissue. All other methods either aren’t capable of reaching and destroying the ink or cause too much damage to the skin, resulting in scarring. The 1064nm and 532nm cover over 80% of tattoo colors. 

What color tattoos can be treated? 

Good - Black, Blue, Dark Blue, Dark Green, Brown, Red, Purple, Orange.

Difficult – Tan, Yellow, Bright Green, Sky Blue. 

Picolazer 

The Picolazer is a non-surgical, non-invasive skin treatment that can help treat cosmetic concerns and can be used in different areas of your body. Although most lasers are used on the face, the Picolazer has been proven safe to use on your neck, chest, legs, arms, hands, back, and even buttocks. 

Most lasers push energy deep into your skin to promote healing and trigger collagen production. The Picolazer is a bit different. The Picolazer is unique and is only one of the few safe and effective devices on the market for treating all skin tones and types. 

The Picolazer treatment takes about 15 to 30 minutes. After the area is treated, a topical is applied to help your skin heal faster. You can go about your day with no worry about the treatment area. Redness and swelling can be expected, but these subside quickly. After treatment, take good care of your skin by avoiding sun exposure, drinking lots of water, and avoiding oil-based makeup. Wash your face gently with cold water. Results should appear within days. You can schedule follow-up appointments between 2-4 weeks. 

Fractional Treatment with Picolazer

Pigment removal can also be treated with fractional laser resurfacing treatments, which is a deeper treatment for more stubborn pigment issues. Ablative lasers are intense and involve removing layers of your skin. Non-ablative procedures target the dermis to promote collagen growth and tightening effects.
